Becoming New Wineskin People
This is the sixth characteristic of New Wineskin People.
Father is looking for those willing to jettison what is of the “former thing” and be reformed as New Wineskin People. He has a strategic purpose and clear mission for those of us who will say yes.
Ezek. 22:30 “I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one." NIV
□ II Chron. 20 illustrates for us what is involved in “gathering in my name”. It reveals how people align with God and come into agreement with God’s promises and His purposes.
□ When it came to his expression of worship, King Jehoshaphat’s actions parallel Father’s desire for New Wineskin People when they worship.
□ New Wineskin People worship focused on engaging with heaven.
II Chronicle 20: 6 "Lord, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you." NIV
□ A settled awareness of the nature of Father’s and your relationship.
□ A settled confidence in who He is.
□ New Wineskin People worship by expressing their identity in the realm of heaven.
7 "Our God, did you not drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend?" NIV
□ A settled awareness of what He has done and the nature of His faithfulness.
□ A settled confidence in the covenant under which you are living.
□ New Wineskin People worship is where they discover heaven’s hidden mysteries.
15 "He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s." NIV
□ The war that was threatening the king and his people was an earth-based war with earth-based enemies, but was going to be fought from heaven, with heavens weapons, tactics, and personnel.
□ The king’s discovery of heaven’s mysteries is: when heaven does the earthly fighting your responsibility for defending yourself goes away.
Worship is an indispensable part of the health and vitality of New Wineskin People.
